GP2 Team bosses have given a tentative endorsement to the series' plans for its winter test and race programme, despite the schedule clashing with a number of A1 Grand Prix fixtures in which they also run several cars.
Plans for three-day tests and a single winter race were given to teams at Hockenheim last weekend, Autosport magazine reveals.
The venue for the single winter series race is yet to be confirmed but will take place over the weekend of November 25/26. The six test days will be at Paul Ricard (October 3/4), Jerez (November 6/7) and Valencia (13/14).
BCN Competition boss Enrique Scalabroni said: "Having a winter race will add continuity to the series, but we have to discuss how the race is going to paid for."
